The word "oh" is quite cool!

    Oh... (Rejection)
    Oh. (Sad realisation)
    Oh? (Really?)
    Oh! (I suddenly remembered)
OH OH OH! (I got it now, I got it now!)
    OH! (Didn't expect this)

Oh yes (haha), speaking of which, there are the other words I don't get.

"This is an outrage of modesty!" (My modesty is very angry! )
"This is the last straw!" (Why does this concern straws? )
    "Raging hormones" (Angry hormones! )
"It's the thought that counts" (Thoughts can count? )

Haha very lame post but I just suddenly thought of it

    I MY MUFFIN!

    Riots and Tears

Haha sorry muffin, don't plan on advertising this blog. And all stalkers who read and don't comment/tell me, i don't mind  I'll just have you stoned.

There were too many colours on the other skin for my liking So i changed!

Anyway. Since i have 2 blogs, i thought i'd make this one the more emotive/boring/expressive side of me. Heh. This means more musings and opinions here, less entertainment. The other side of me if you please

You know, today i was studying for histoy, and i thought about the Maria Hertough riots. I thought that everyone was being very very selfish. I mean, everyone was fighting for Maria, to defend their beliefs, and i started to question if they bothered about how she felt about the whole thing.

First off, her parents became prisoners of war. That is a pretty big thing to happen to a little kid. I mean, she must have been like 10 years old right? I don't know, my math sucks. But it's less than 13 years old. Then following that, she is adopted/taken care of (wikipedia gives the 2 versions of stories from both mothers) by a different mummy. That's a pretty big change to her too right? A total culture shock and a change of religion. Now correct me if I'm wrong, but don't most people base their lives on religion and what they believe in? A change of religion, even if it wasn't forced upon, would mean a total change of beliefs, with them telling her that what she has been believing her whole life is just wrong, and oh here look, these are the correct beliefs you should be thinking about.

And then after that! Her other mother comes along and wants her back! The 2 people she would have considered her world start disagreeing and arguing, so much so that the matter is taken to court. She's only 13 for goodness' sake! Argue argue argue, fast forward and her first mummy wins her back.

Okay. So let's catch up on the past 3 years mum, what's up?

But! Barely 2 months after that, too little time to spend with her first mum, and she's back to her malay side of her again. At this point, if I were 13, I would be freaking confused about how I feel towards these 2 women, one of them being someone who took care of me during a war, and the other my real mother- the one who laboured nine months to have me.

Oh but wait, there seems to be time to spare until another custody case, so why not complicate things and get her married? Oh yes that sounds like such a fine idea. So an arranged marriage was arranged for her (this, by the way, took place 4 days into her return to her foster mother), and this poor confused kid got married at 13. To a malay teacher. Hm. Quite an age gap, I would presume. (I checked the net and confirmed my presumptions. She married a 22 year old teacher.) But oh well. All you need is love, right? (According to the website, "it was love at first sight". Um, 13 year olds, the last time i checked, don't have "love at first sight"s with 22 year old men. But what do I know.)

(The marriage. The man's on the left, the girl's on the right, and the mum sitting below them.)

Of course her other parents had to oppose that, that's all everyone seems to be doing anyway. And then the Malay community got pissed at them for opposing their beliefs. I mean, yeah sure if tables had been turned and this was a Christian thing I would probably have disagreed too, but I mean, what of the poor girl?! This feels like the show "My Fair Lady", where she's so objectfied.

The story continues and I get more and more upset. The girl, by the way, does not wish to see her mum (her natural mother) except  during court cases, as reported by this website. I think that's quite sad...

THE BORING RIOTS OPINION THING STOPS HERE, YOU CAN START READING AGAIN.

Oh well. I'm done ranting. You know, earlier on, I watched this Korean show called "Daddy Long Legs", and of course, it being a Korean romance, I cried. The dude died And you know, crying felt so alien to me; I haven't done it in such a long time! And I realised, despite the many tough times, I've yet to cry. I wonder, if that's a good thing at all. I mean, how can not showing emotions be a good thing? What comes out is supposed to come out for a reason. Keeping it in is thus no good!
